1 – Open Studios on October 9 and 10, 11am – 6pm

The Art Don’t Stop at CELLspace
Come down to CELLspace ( 2050 Bryant between 18th and 19th) for a frenzy of artistic activity! See all of Todd Berman’s paintings and drawings – including a brand new series of large canvases - in the last hoorah of his five-year tenure as a studio member at this artists collective. It’s been a productive five years. Drawings will be on sale for as little as $1, paintings are available for as little as $50!

To help celebrate, Wendy and Wendy will be on hand at the Wendy Magazine (“Not as Good As Something Better”) Table of Delusion to guide you into their strange and wonderful and hilarious world of collaborative drawing. Yes, it is fun for the whole family.

Ross Holzman will display “This is War”, an intense and insightful series of collages on canvas using newspaper clippings from around the world collected since Bush War II began in March of 2003.

“For the People,” an international exhibit of street art (stickers, stencils, graffiti…), as well as furniture and sculpture by Jane Wason be on display at CELLspace. Several hundred other artists within a five block radius will also have their studios open for the weekend.

Wash it all down with a cool cup of sangria.

2 – Collaborative Art from Power to the Peaceful Festival

On September 11, 2004, the Hip-Hop/Reggae/Soul band Spearhead hosted a music and peace festival in Golden Gate park that drew over 30,000 people. The Art Don’t Stop was there to coordinate an art gallery and some collaborative art. Margie Burke of mural exchange helped people paint a colorful free-form mural. Lauren Girardin got people to draw themselves on paper which Todd Berman collaged into a painting of the event to create a Collective Self-Portrait of the event.
See the results of these efforts at http://www.theartdontstop.org/show_topic.php?id=10237
The Collective Self-Portrait will be on display at Open Studios (see above).

3 – There is plenty of new art online

This is to be expected seeing as The Art Don’t Stop.

There is a nice set of new, finished paintings at: http://www.theartdontstop.org/show_topic.php?id=10002 A couple more large ones will be added to the site soon, so keep checking back.

I have just been hired as the site support sub for Galileo Academy – I’ll be working there every day this year. This gallery will grow quickly:

In recent months, I’ve really been trying to network with other artists. See some drawings and make sure to follow some links to see what they’re all about:

Thank you all for your interest!
Much Love –
