Pierre Valley - Now With the Guerrero's! (detail)
July 4, 2008
collaborative, mixed media on canvas

Ivonne Guerrero added drawings of herself, her daughter, Ivonne Jr., her son, Jaime Jr. her ex, Jaime Guerrero, and her favorite customer, Dane, to "Good Day Sunshine in Pierre Valley."

Ivonne bought the painting on behalf of Martha & Bros. Coffee.

This is where the painting was created and it is where it will live - right above the milk and sugar. As part of her purchase, Ivonne will donate $100 to Danielle Bologna who recently lost her husband and two sons to murder.

This is a detail, see the whole painting here.

San Francisco Activities

collaborative, acrylic and mixed media on canvas, 24" x 30" (sold)

Students from Ms. Golata's class each drew a picture of themselves doing something in San Francisco. I collaged these pictures into a painting of San Francisco - or an impression of San Francisco.

Collective Picture of Progress
June 17, 2007
collaborative, mixed media on canvas, 20" x 24"

The League of Young Voters threw an art auction party called "Picture Progress" on June 15 at Red Ink Studios. The League of Young Voters' long term strategy is to "build an inspired, engaged and effective culture and community around youth participation." I think that's a good plan.

I asked people at the event to draw a picture of themselves creating social change which I then incorporated into this "Collective Picture of Progress."

You can see close-ups of this painting in the "Picture of Progress details" topic gallery on this site.

Artists who contributed to this painting include Sergio Flores, Jamai Lowell, Karil Daniels, Lucas Thornton, Andy Goldman, Debra Bronstein, Alidra Solday, Ariana, Camille, Nicole Rivera, Agata Kamler, Ofra Fisher, Martha, Melita Morales, Razzu Engen, Esther Morales, Kell$, Henry Lyon, Laura Mason, Neil Pacheco, Jesse Allen, Arseno Smith, Peter Lyon, Lyndsey Chaille, Nykolas Mamula, Justin Wonge, Gabe Weis, Charity, Ezra, and Carolynn Box. In recognition of their help, a portion of the sale price of this painting will be donated to the League of Young Voters.

This painting is currently featured in The League's online art gallery.
